Vucic: Belgrade will accept Venetian Commission suggestions

Serbia’s President told French officials on Wednesday that Belgrade would accept the suggestion by Venetian Commission regarding the rule of law.

Aleksandar Vucic said his country was dedicated to the reforms which would eventually enable it to become an equal partner, while the European Union full membership remained Serbia’s goal.

Vucic briefed Jean Bizet, a member of the Senate of France, and his delegation, about Serbia’s economic achievements, adding Belgrade >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << wished to implement legal reforms to strengthen the judiciary as well.

Bize, who heads the Senate’s delegation of the Council for European Affairs, said he was aware of a prominent role Belgrade has in the Balkans, adding France understood a problematic position Serbia was in.

He welcomed the growing interest that French companies showed for investing in Serbia, a statement from Vucic’s office said.

Bize’s delegation will draft a report on Serbia’s improvements on the road to the EU which they will then forward to the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the European Parliament President Antonio Tajani.
