Belgrade University drops on world ranking list
Belgrade University has dropped on the so-called Shanghai list of 500 top universities in the world, the FoNet news agency reported on Tuesday.
Belgrade University now holds a place among the universities ranked between places 301 and 400, a drop from last year’s Academic Ranking of World Universities’ list on which it was ranked between 201st and 300th place.
The exact ranking on the list has been calculated by Belgrade University Physics professor Zoran Nikolic >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << who is quoted as saying that the university is now ranked 302nd, a drop from place 284 on last year’s list but still holds top ranking among the universities in south eastern Europe with three Greek, one Turkish and one Slovenian university ranking lower.
According to Nikolic, Novi Sad University is ranked 912th.
He said that Belgrade University was ranked on the basis of results in 18 research fields last year while this year’s ranking is based on 27 research fields.
The Shanghai list has been ranking Belgrade University since 2012.
