WW2 Bomb unearthed in northern Serbia

Construction workers found an unexploded World War 2 bomb at a building site in Serbia’s northern city of Novi Sad, the local 021 portal reported on Tuesday.

The police secured the area in a suburb before explosives experts came in to remove the German aerial bomb.

The 021 portal reported that World War 2 aerial bombs have already been found in that part of the city which was once home to a military airfield. The airfield was there from World War 1 to the late 1950s before being incorporated into an army barracks.

Land in the suburb has been taken from the military over the past 20 years to be turned into construction sites.
