US concerned about election process in Bosnia

The US State Department said it was worried about the general election process in Bosnia, on Sunday, thus joining the OSCE, international observers and local non-governmental organisations, the Beta news agency reported late on Monday.

The worries are caused by voters’ lists, the absence of unbiased election observers and equal media treatment as well as by the abuse of the public resources.

“Those concerns are in discrepancy with the commitment expressed by Bosnia’s >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << authorities to the fair and transparent elections, and we thus encourage them to eliminate the flaws noticed by the OSCE observers,” the State Department said.

The US praised Bosnia’s citizens for taking part in the elections, adding Washington remained devoted to a stable and prosperous Bosnia.

The State Department called on the voters to use legal channels to file complaints about the election process.
