Serbia’s PM: Google to react as soon as possible
Serbia’s Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Friday she received “firm assurances” from the Google company that her country was put on “a blacklist” due to a technical problem, N1 reported.
Brnabic’s office reacted to social media reports that Serbia was removed from the Google list of “supported countries” in which it was possible to register at G Suit business application collection which makes all businesses easier.
It was reported that the access to >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << the G Suit was revoked under the recommendations from Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in charge of fighting money laundering and financing of terrorist organisations, which put Serbia on the list of high-risk countries together with ten other states.
The statement from Prime Minister’s office said Brnabic reacted immediately and directly contacted the Google management in the US.
“Prime Minister and her team in charge of digitalisation have been in direct contact with Google’s representatives the whole day and were told that it was the question of a technical, and not political, financial or legal problem,” the statement said.
It added that “the solution to that technical problem and the continuation of the normal functioning of all Google’s services in Serbia is expected soon.”
“We believe that the Google company will soon issue a statement.”
