Industrial production lower in August
Industrial production dropped 4.3 percent in August 2018 compared to the same month a year earlier and by 1.3 percent compared to July 2018, the Serbian Republic Statistics Office said on Friday.
Industrial production rose 2.7 percent in the January-August 2018 period compared to the same period of 2017 with the processing industry recording a growth of 2.8 percent.
The processing industry recorded a drop of 1 percent in August compared to the same month a year earlier.

Suppliers of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning reported a drop of 11 percent but recorded a rise of 5.1 percent in the January-August period compared to the same period of 2017. Mining recorded a drop of 20.2 percent in August compared to the same month of 2017 and a drop of 3.8 percent in the January-August period.
The Statistics Office said that industrial production in August recorded growth in 12 areas which account for 34 percent of overall industrial production while drops were recorded in 17 areas which account for 66 of overall production.
