Amendments to Serbian constitution soon, minister says
Draft amendments to the Serbian constitution are almost complete and will be in line with Venice Commission recommendations, Justice Minister Nela Kuburovic said on Friday.
She expressed hope that the amendments, which cover the judiciary, will be submitted to parliament in September for adoption by two-thirds majority.
“If they are adopted, the parliament Committee on Constitutional Issues will complete a final draft which will be put up for public debate,” Kuburovic >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << said.
The minister recalled that a referendum has to be organized for the citizens to confirm the changes to the constitution.
The justice minister said her ministry will be working intensively on laws on combating corruption, on lobbying and on personal data protection, adding that the law on free legal aid is expected to be adopted this autumn.
