Kosovo government withdraws dialogue platform
The Kosovo government decided to withdraw its draft platform for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue from parliament, saying it does not have enough votes for it to be adopted.
“We withdrew the platform on the dialogue from parliament to allow time for a debate and to avoid conflicts between political groups. Kosovo needs to find a formula for a comprehensive approach to this important issue,” Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said, adding that there was huge interest >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << in a debate among political parties and the general population.
The opposition Democratic Alliance of Kosovo and Vetëvendosje (Selfdetermination) said the draft platform is not a serious document and is not based on the constitution. Those parties said parliament should decide on issues like the dialogue.
The three main proclaimed goals in the draft platform were mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia, Kosovo’s membership in the UN and the promotion of Euro-Atlantic relations.
