FM: Belgrade is for compromise, not sure about Pristina
Ivica Dacic, Serbia’s chief diplomat, said on Friday his country was committed to searching for a compromising solution with Pristina, but that it was too early to tell if such an agreement would be reached because he said he was not sure that the other side wanted that, the FoNet news agency reported.
Speaking ahead of an informal meeting of the European Union and candidate states’ foreign ministers >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << in Vienna, Dacic said that a compromise would be in the best interest of the Serb and Albanian peoples and the regional stability.
That, he added, would open a road to European integrations and the EU membership.
Meanwhile, the head of Serbia’s Government Office for Kosovo told reporters in Belgrade he called a news conference to say he had an impression that “we have been further from and not close to a solution of relations with Pristina.”
Marko Djuric accused Pristina of megalomania regarding the territorial issue and the international community of keeping silent about that.
He said that Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic’s visit to northern Kosovo on September 8-9 would include talks to all parts of Serb population there.
Earlier, Vucic said he would tell the Kosovo Serb about the Belgrade ' Pristina dialogue and Serbiaćs intentions in the talks, but added he would not specify what his solution would be.
