Serbia – Politics: Verdict as a Fuse
The acquittal of Serbian Radical Party leader Vojislav Seselj by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) will produce political consequences in Serbia, mostly negative ones, as well as negative emotions in the region, bearing in mind Seselj's militant and aggressive political past. The ICTY verdict will certainly provide a great wind in the sails of Seselj's extreme nationalists, who are looking to return to the parliament in the April 24 general election, after a four-year absence.
