West Nile virus kills elderly man in Serbia
An elderly man has died after contracting the West Nile virus, the Serbian Public Health Institute reported on its web site on Wednesday.
The report specified that the man died in the city of Novi Sad at the age of 84.
A total of 29 West Nile virus cases have been confirmed in Serbia up to July 17, 2018, the Institute said.
The Beta news agency recalled that a total of 574 West Nile virus cases had been confirmed in Serbia between 2012 and 2017. The West Nile virus is spread by mosquitoes.
