Three injured in fire at Serbian Oil Industry drill site

Three people were injured in a fire at an oil well outside the town of Pozarevac, east of Belgrade on Thursday evening, the Serbian state TV (RTS) reported.

Two of the men were transferred to hospital in Belgrade with second and third degree burns, a spokesperson for the local hospital said.

The RTS report said that the fire at the oil well in the village of Bradarac took 40 minutes to put out, adding that the entire well platform was in flames as well as trees and foliage >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << in the area.

The Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) issued a statement saying that the fire at the Bramalj 3 well started during maintenance work. “There is no danger to the environment and the local villages. NIS is working with all competent services and the causes of the fire will be known following an investigation,” the statement said.
