Serbia’s PM: A lot to do on media freedom
Ana Brnabic, Serbia’s Prime Minister, said on Thursday the Belgrade had a lot of work to make progress in the rule of law and freedom of media, but felt short of providing any details.
Her remarks followed a meeting with EU’s Foreign Policy and Security chief Federica Mogherini who visited Belgrade on her short tour of the Western Balkans ahead of the May EU Summit with the regional leaders in Sofia.

Brnabic was satisfied with the EC recognition od Serbia’s efforts to carry out political and economic reforms and its commitment to the regional cooperation, a statement from her office said.
It quoted Mogherini as saying that it was important both for Serbia and the region as a whole that Bulgaria held the EU rotating presidency because that “member state understands the current situation in the Western Balkans.”
She added, the statement said, that the dedication to political and economic cooperation in the region was a key factor in speeding up the accession process.
Mogherini, who earlier met with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, said it was important to raise the Serb people’s conscience about the significance of joining the EU “which will secure peace and stability and boost the living standard of all citizens.”
Brnabic said Serbia would follow the EC report’s suggestions in further reforms.
