Serbian military exercise to mark end of WW 1

The Serbian military will stage an exercise with a parade at the Batajnica air base on November 1 to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti said on Friday.

The newspaper report said that several thousand military personnel from all branches of the Serbian Armed Forces will take part using an unprecedented number of tanks and other combat vehicles.

It added that the exercise could include the use of Russian Mi-35 helicopter >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << gunships. Vecernje Novosti said that the Serbian military is planning to get those helicopter soon.

The air force will demonstrate the capabilities of its MiG-29 fighters while ground forces will demonstrate the use of domestically produced weapons and equipment such as the Nora howitzer and Milos and Lazar combat vehicles.
