Serbian military events to mark Army day
The Serbian military is organizing a display of its weapons and equipment in several towns across the country as part of events leading up to Army of Serbia (VS) day on April 23.
The displays will be organized over the course of three days starting on Thursday and finishing on Saturday, April 21.
The VS will also open its Military Medical Academy to the population for free specialist check-ups on Friday.
The events to mark VS day include an artillery gun >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << salute from Belgrade’s Kalemegdan fortress followed by a Guards drill display on the central Republic Square in the afternoon of April 22 and a formal gathering for top state and military officials at Belgrade’s Sava Center the next day.
The Army of Serbia marks its day on the anniversary of an uprising against Ottoman rule in 1815.
