Serbian government says media strategy team formed
The Serbian government says a working group to draft the national media strategy was formed at Monday’s meeting with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
A government press release said that the working group has nine members from media and journalists’ organizations with another eight representatives of ministries and other state institutions. It is chaired by Dejan Stojanovic from the Ministry of Culture and Information.
“The media strategy will be drafted with support >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << from the OSCE and the European Union Delegation in Serbia whose representatives were present at the meeting. Agreement was reached for the OSCE to continue providing support to experts chosen by the media and journalists’ organizations,” the press release said.
It added that agreement was also reached on the government forming a Coordination Body for Cooperation with the Media and the media and journalists’ organizations forming a Dialogue Team.
“Those two bodies will work together to solve problems facing journalists and the media,” it said. The Coordination Body’s members will include, among others, the Serbian President’s and the government’s media advisors and representatives of several ministries, including the Justice and Internal Affairs Ministries.
