Serbian academy head warns of intolerance
Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SANU) President Vladimir Kostic told Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti on Tuesday that he fears the intolerance and aggression present in society.
Kostic warned that the intolerance and aggression could turn into a battle unless some way is found to calm the tension in social communication.
Serbian society has become “immobile, without ideas and with a lot of aggression between individuals and different groups”.
“You >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << have the right to say what you think but if that does not fit into my model of patriotic correctness, you are no doubt a traitor, mercenary, nationalist criminal, most probably a spy or a clero-fascist,” Kostic said and added that he believes that people have slowly started accepting the fact that the glorious past is far away and that little thought is given to the future.
