Serbia looking for 10,000 missing in wars

Serbia is still trying to find more than 10,000 people missing in the wars in the former Yugoslavia, Missing Persons Commission chief Veljko Odalovic told UN war crimes tribunal Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz on Wednesday.

A Commission press release said that Odalovic told Brammertz that 72 percent of missing persons cases had been solved and that 10,280 people were still being sought.

Brammertz is quoted as saying that the complex and sensitive issue can be used for political gain, adding that he discussed the issue with both Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic and her Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic.
