Serbia faces wave of teachers’ strikes starting on Friday
All four major unions of teachers and professors in Serbia are going on strike next Friday, demanding from the Government to raise their pay grade, the Beta news agency quoted a union leader as saying on Monday.
Jasna Jankovic said that the strike would start at noon, outside the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and continue outside the Ministry of State Administration.
She said that the Friday’s strike was a beginning of a serious of protests >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << in September and that they would include 30-minute classes (instead of 45) on the first school day on September 3, and then on the 11th, 19th and 27th the same month.
Jankovic said that a sufficient number of schools would join the strike.
