Serbia, Albania planning joint tourism offer

Serbia and Albania are combining force to expand their tourism offer following the signing of a cooperation agreement in Belgrade on Tuesday.

The two countries’ tourism Ministers, Rasim Ljajic and Blendi Klosi said the agreement they signed should help attract tourists from third countries who want to see more than one country in the region.

Ljajic told reporters that this is one of a number of similar agreements Serbia has signed with the countries of the region, adding >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << that the only remaining agreement will be signed with Bulgaria soon.

He said Serbia wants to  raise the number of tourists travelling between Serbia and Albania which now stands at a low of 3,000 to 5,000 a year. One country offering travel destinations alone stands less chance on the tourism market because people want to visit more than one country, Ljajic said.

Klosi added that the two countries and the rest of the region have a greater opportunity if they make a joint offer which is why every country in the region has to support the tourism industry. The Albanian minister said they agreed to organize a meeting of the tourism ministers of Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo.
