Pristina mayor says dialogue not transparent

Kosovo Social Democrat Party leader Spend Ahmeti told the Thursday issue of Belgrade daily Danas that the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations are not transparent, adding that President Hashim Thaci does not have the legitimacy to continue them.

According to Ahmeti, who also holds the post of mayor of Pristina, President Thaci has neither the political nor the constitutional legitimacy to continue the dialogue which is being conducted under the auspices of the European Union. >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija <<

He said he expects more “games” from Thaci and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic but does not expect the talks to continue any time soon.

“One day they appear in Austria, acting like school chums whispering in each other’s ear about how it’s time for an agreement and then they use different tactics pretending that they are nationalists and who knows what else,” Ahmeti said.

Vucic and Thaci both know that they are important only for as long as tensions exist, he added.
