Ombudsman warns of violence against children
Serbian Ombudsman Zoran Pasalic warned on Monday that his office is receiving a lot of reports of violence against children and called the authorities to make that problem a priority.
Pasalic said that a third of all reports he receives about the rights of children have to do with violence against them and added that peer group and gender-based violence in schools is becoming increasingly frequent.
“Experience shows that the authorities do not always recognize possible >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << threats of violence against children such as children witnessing domestic violence. I am calling the authorities to invest added effort to prevent and protect children from violence and to raise awareness about violence against children and how wide-spread it is,” the Ombudsman said.
