New children ward opens in Serbia’s south
The most modern haematology-oncology ward for children was open on Tuesday in Serbia’s southern city of Nis, providing seriously sick kids with the best possible stay in the Nis Clinical Centre, the ward’s director said.
Gordana Kostic added that the ward was made in a way that it actually did not feel like an ordinary hospital unit and that it would be possible for parents to stay with their children.
The new ward has 750 square meters and its construction cost >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << some 850,000 Euros that was secured by the National Association of parents whose children are suffering from cancer, NURDOR, donors, citizens and the Health Ministry.
The NURDOR president Joland Korora said the ward was the most modern hospital unit in Serbia, done in accordance with the European standards, “to suit children, their parents and hospital staff.”
“This new haematology-oncology ward has 15 beds for kids and the same number for the parents. Every room has its own bathroom… We built the unit in a way that children could undergo their therapy while playing,” she said.
