More construction permits issued in Serbia this year
The Serbian authorities have issued 8.5 percent more construction permits in the first nine months of 2018 than in the same period a year earlier, the Ministry of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure said on Friday.
“More than 90 percent of the construction permits issued in September 2018 are for buildings when the construction of 1,613 apartments which is 10.2 percent more than in the same period last year,” the press release said.
According to the Republic >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Statistics Office figures, 1,761 permits were issued in September which is 2.6 percent more than in September 2017.
The figures also show that the estimated value of the construction work was 12.7 percent higher in the first nine months of this year compared to the same period a year earlier.
The press release said that the construction and infrastructure industries are the main reasons for the growth of the GDP in 2018, adding that the number of active construction sites has increased almost three fold over the past three years since the introduction of electronic permits from 12,800 at the end of 2015 to more than 33,000 in September this year.
