'Missing persons issue problem for both Serbia and Croatia'

Serbia’s special representative for solving the issue of missing persons with Croatia Veran Matic said he did not go to the Croatian eastern town of Vukovar as a representative of Serbia. Matic, who was there on Saturday with the leader of Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) Milorad Pupovac, said it was a personal visit.

Speaking for N1, Matic said the lack of a single list of the missing persons is the biggest obstacle to the solution for this issue, which poses a problem >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << to both Croatia and Serbia.

“There is a series of problems in investigations and I think one of the most important is the lack of a single list of the missing persons,” said Matic, adding that this list should be personalised in a way that it contains the information on how the person went missing, who were the witnesses, etc.

“We must collect the data on every person who went missing both in the Serbian and Croatian archives, then in the Hague archives which we will, also, start using soon for this,” he added.
