Migrant route should remain closed, Orban says in Montenegro
The Balkans migrant route should remain closed and each country should come up with its own policy on migrants, Hungarian Prime Minister said in the Montenegrin capital Podgorica on Tuesday.
Speaking at a news conference with his counterpart Dusko Markovic, Orban said that the sole success in the migrant crisis was the closing of the Balkan route which he said has to remain closed.
The Hungarian Prime Minister warned that Europe is till making serious mistakes and does >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << not want to understand that it has to refrain from doing anything which could be construed to be an invitation by people in Africa and the Middle East.
“The EU is sending out ambiguous signals, saying do not come and inviting them at the same time and as a result people are drowning at sea or are stuck along the migration routes. What we are doing is inhumane and politically unreasonable,” Orban said.
Hungary is prepared to help Montenegro solve any problem with migrants. “When Montenegro defends its borders it is defending Hungary and the entire European Union,” he said.
Markovic told the media that Podgorica is not concerned about the increasingly frequent arrival of migrants from neighbouring Albania. “This is not a situation which concerns us but all the teams are operating are prepared to close the route from Albania to defend Montenegro and its borders,” Markovic said, adding that Hungary has supplied it with barbed wire which might be used but that there is no reason for that yet.
