Kosovo’s Thaci: No to partition, yes to peaceful separation
Kosovo’s President said on Monday the mutual recognition and good neighbourly relations between Belgrade and Pristina should be achieved and that then a calm and agreed demarcation of the border would guarantee the multi-ethnicity,” the Pristina Epoka e Re paper reported.
Hashim Thaci said that “the delay will cost us much,” in a comment to the statement by the former Swedish diplomat Carl Bildt and an >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << exc-High Representative for Bosnia, who said that anyone who spoke about the borders corrections, accepted an ethnic cleansing.
Thaci said he supported Pristina’s road to both NATO and the European Union and that was about the time to close a chapter in Belgrade - Pristina relations in mutual recognition.
“I’m against the partition of Kosovo, territories’ swap, status quo, the formation of (something like) Republika Srpska (RS, the Serb-dominated entity in Bosnia), but I’m for a peaceful demarcation and the establishment of the 400-kilometre long border between Kosovo and Serbia. A balanced agreement is in everybody’s interest,” Thaci said.
