Kosovo PM: CSM to be formed according to Kosovo laws
A Community of Serb Municipalities will be formed according to the Constitution and the laws of Kosovo, said Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Ramus Haradinaj.
“We heard top EU officials when they said that a Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) has to be formed in accordance with Kosovo law,” >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << he told Radio Television of Kosovo.
Haradinaj said that the formation of the Community and the issue of Kosovo’s independence are two separate issues.
“The first one happens in Kosovo and concerns only Kosovo. The issue of forming the CSM needs to be solved in accordance with the Constitution and Kosovo’s laws, as the agreement states. While the issue of Kosovo’s independence recognition must be mutual, it concerns Serbia and Kosovo,” he explained.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister said there was still a lot to work on in regard to the normalization of the relations between Belgrade and Pristina, but that significant steps were made.
“Kosovo did a lot for the rights of Serbs, now is finally the time for reconciliation, political reconciliation, but what happened cannot be forgotten or forgiven,” he said, adding that “recognition is the final step which has to be taken” and that he expects this to happen as soon as possible, “but if Serbia wants to wait, so can we.”
Haradinaj pointed out that Serbia cannot enter the EU without recognizing Kosovo and that this is why a “joint solution” has to be found.
