KOTOR WALLS COLLAPSING: Sad photos of medieval city (PHOTO)
Counterfort separated from the wall between the summer stage in Kotor and bridge towards Tabacina yesterday around 11 AM.
Architect Zorica Cubrovic from the Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Property explained for "Radio Kotor", counterforts have been built to strengthen the walls of medieval city, but they are not structurally bound to them.
- Skruda (river wellhead) has washed away the foundations, and we could expect it to happen. Other counterforts around >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Telegraf.rs << the river should be checked - said Cubrovic.
Next to Cubrovic, the scene was inspected by head of Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Property Marija Popovic, secretary for protection of natural and cultural heritage Nenad Vukadinovic and Zoran Dragovic from communal police.
Nenad Vukadinovic said for "Skala radio" in his opinion, structural engineers should be brought as soon as possible, and afterwards, repairs of this and other parts of damaged walls should be done.
In the Directorate for Planning and construction of Kotor, according to him, the funds for repairing the walls have already been determined by plan and program.

Let us remind you, in early October, there has been collapsing of parts of Kotor walls from the North city gate to the Bembo bastion of 10 meters in length.
