Half a million unemployed in Serbia
Serbia has an army of more than half a million unemployed adults, the CEO of the National Employment Service said on Tuesday.
CEO Zoran Martinovic said that the exact number of unemployed people is 553,000 but added that this is 11 percent less than a year earlier.
According to Martinovic, unemployment numbers are dropping everywhere in Serbia. “A total of 22,0000 people are including in active employment measures at national level and the National Employment Service >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << has set aside 300 million Dinars (1 Euro – 119 Dinars) for those active measures and other programmes,” he said.
The unemployed prefer self-employment programmes while employers want programmes to help them open new jobs, he said..
