Belgrade, Pristina fortifying positions before new meeting
The editor in chief of an influential Serbian newspaper feels that officials in Belgrade and Pristina are using the break in talks to fortify their positions.
Politika daily acting editor in chief Zarko Rakic told N1 that the European Union-mediated dialogue to resolve the Kosovo issue could even be transferred back to the UN.
“There is no serious dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the whole thing has hit a dead end and we have no result apart from some concessions >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << made by Serbia. Both sides are fortifying their positions, perhaps to make new proposals,” Rakic said, adding that the coming meeting in Paris could bring interesting proposals. The Presidents of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci have been invited to attend the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1 along with other European leaders.
