The Belgian company Elicio has launched its wind farm outside the Vojvodina town of Alibunar on Tuesday with plans to supply power to 38,000 households.

“We invested a lot of effort over the past few years to secure the conditions for investments like this which require state support,” he said adding that the wind farm proves that Serbia is moving forward in terms of energy.

The wind farm in Alibunar has 21 turbines with a total capacity of 42 megawats. The Serbian government is planning to have 27 of the country’s power supplied from renewable sources by the year 2020.
