Be Humane - Help Pedja win the fight of his life
The BUDI HUMAN – Aleksandar Šapić humanitarian foundation is collecting money for N1 TV editor and journalist Pedja Obradovic (43).
Pedja was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastomic Leukemia in September 2018. He was immediately admitted to the Hematology Institute at the Serbian Clinical Centre and was found to have a high-risk form of Leukemia. He received cytostatic therapy which was supposed to have been followed up with a bone marrow transplant. Pedja can receive one more round of cytostatic therapy at the Hematology Institute but the outcome is completely uncertain.
A new therapy has been registered in 2018, first in the United States and soon afterwards in the European Union, which is used to treat the resistant forms of Acute Lymphoblastomic Leukemia that Pedja has. Studies and clinical practice have shown that the therapy has a high percentage of positive results. The new therapy provides a very good chance of success which would lead to a bone marrow transplant and a cure of the ailment. Doctors at the Helios Hospital in Berlin are prepared to admit Pedja for therapy followed by a bone marrow transplant but he needs to get the money as soon as possible.
