Air Serbia marks fifth anniversary

Air Serbia has transported 12 million passengers on more than 150,000 flights in its first five years, a press release said on Friday, marking the company’s anniversary.

The Serbian national airline’s first aircraft – an Airbus A319 named Novak Djokovic – had its first flight on October 26, 2013 from Belgrade to Abu Dhabi. Air Serbia was launched in April that year when JAT Airways signed a strategic partnership agreement with Etihad.

“We are proud to be the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << absolute leader in the region on this important anniversary. We are moving on with even more ambitious goals and are grateful for the trust shown us by passengers to date and we will try to justify it,” Air Serbian CEO Duncan Naysmith is quoted as saying.

The press release said that the AirlineRatings.com web site rated Air Serbia as the best airline in southeastern Europe in 2018. The company recalled that it flies to more than 40 destinations world-wide.
