SNSD, Dodik fined for hate speech in election campaign
Bosnia-Herzegovina's (BiH) Central Election Commission (CEC) fined Milorad Dodik and his Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) for using hate speech during his campaign for election to the three-member BiH Presidency.
The Commission held the SNSD accountable its candidate in thegeneral election, party leader Dodik, used language which might have incited violence or spread of hatred in a speech on October 4 this year.
According to the Commission, this >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << was a breach of the regulations in the election campaign. The SNSD was fined 7,000 Bosnian marks (approx. EUR 3,500) and its leader Dodik 5,000 marks (approx. EUR 2,500)
Dodik, the outgoing President of the Republika Srpska, Bosnia's semi-autonomous Serb-dominated entity, won the elections for the post of Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, according to the latest election results.
The SNSD was previously fined for Dodik's election campaign speech on September 22 and his use of language that might have incited violence or spread hatred.
