Time to close open questions, Kosovo President says
The time has come to close open questions in the region, including Kosovo-Serbia relations as the most sensitive issue, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said on Wednesday.
“There are many open questions between the six states of our region. Relations between Kosovo and Serbia are the most sensitive of those. This is not a new questions but a hundred year old problem and we have tried to normalize relations but >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << the time has come to do more than constructive communication,” Thaci said said during a lecture at the German Council on Foreign Relations.
"We can’t remain in this situation forever. We need greater engagement from our friends in Berlin, Brussels and Washington to reach an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia,” the Kosovo President said and added that Germany has a key role to play.
Thaci said the coming summit in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia is a historic event because it will bring together European Union and Western Balkan leaders. “We want to use the positive moment brought by the European Commission Strategy for the Western Balkans,” he said.
