New Kosovo Specialist Prosecutor sworn in
Specialist Prosecutor Jack Smith on Tuesday signed a solemn declaration, swearing to exercise his functions independently, impartially and conscientiously, the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release.
Smith was selected for the position in May 2018 under procedures organised by the European Union and appointed by EULEX Head of Mission, Alexandra Papadopoulou, it added.
Smith is a US prosecutor with experience in both high-level political investigations >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << and international criminal investigations. He succeeds David Schwendiman, the first Specialist Prosecutor and formerly Lead Prosecutor of the Special Investigative Task Force, who stepped down at the end of March when his term as a US Foreign Service Officer expired, the press release said.
