Kosovo state symbols removed in Brussels

The European Union Committee of Regions has removed all symbols of Kosovo from its premises at the request of the Serbian mission, the Beta news agency reported on Friday.

An unnamed Committee official told the agency that Serbia’s Mission to the EU sent a protest note to Committee President Karl-Heinz Lambertz demanding the removal of all symbols denoting Kosovo as a state. “The Committee of the Regions fully adheres to the status neutral stand in regard to Kosovo, bearing in mind that five EU member states have not recognized its independence,” the official said.
