Kosovo PM says borders not in president's powers
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said on Wednesday that the powers of the president are clear and that territory and borders are not within his jurisdiction.
“The Kosovo President (Hashim Thaci) represents the country and its territory and borders are not within his competencies. They are part of the sovereignty and integrity of Kosovo as a constitutional >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << category. We respect the constitution,” Haradinaj told Belgrade’s TV Prva speaking in Serbian.
He said Kosovo would not accept demarcation. “Talking about takes us in a very wrong direction. We have been through that in the 1990s. We have these borders and perhaps we are not happy with them but if we don’t respect this, what then,” he said.
Speaking to Pristina’s T7 TV, Haradinaj said that the opposition and the Serb List party are preventing the forming of Kosovo’s negotiation team in parliament.
The Kosovo parliament convened on Tuesday but postponed its session for Wednesday because an insufficient number of MPs were present. The session was scheduled for the next day but the same happened.
