Jihadist-related group planned attacks in Kosovo, abroad
Kosovo Special Prosecutor indicted a group of local people for terrorism, saying they planned raids on Serb targets in Kosovo and suicide attacks on NATO-led peacekeeping Force (KFOR), as well as on marks in France and Belgium, the media in Pristina reported.
According to the kallxo.com website, the Special Prosecutor’s indictment specified the ways >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << of their functioning, the financing and the targets of the group of Kosovo’s citizens who had already been arrested.
The charges said that the group planned attacks on two discotheques in the Serb-populated town of Gracanica and the Serb Orthodox church in the northern part of the divided town of Kosovska Mitrovica.
The targets abroad have not been specified.
The group was accused of being linked to the Islamic State which also, the indictment said, financed it.
According to the statements the accused gave, the money should have been sent through Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan or Russia.
Bujar Behrami was charged with attempting to form a terrorist group “Islamic State’s Assistants in Eagle’s countries” which would have operated in Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia.
Gramos Shabani, who holds a Belgium passport as well, faces accusations of planning terrorist attacks in France and Belgium.
The only woman among the accused, Edona Haliti is indicted for preparing a suicide attack on KFOR with a vehicle carrying explosive, allegedly instructed by Shabani.
The two members of the group are accused of having knowledge of the plans but failing to report them to the police.
