Foreign Minister: Kosovo is losing international support

There will soon be fewer than 100 countries that recognise Kosovo’s independence, and then Pristina (Kosovo’s capital) will not be able to join any international organisations, Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, said on Saturday.

"Then, so-called Kosovo can only dream of becoming a member of international organisations, as it >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << will not have enough votes (in the United Nations)," Dacic said, adding that the UN has 193 members, and that each member country is important, the local daily Kurir reported.

Dacic announced that another 10 countries will withdraw their recognition of Kosovo, but he would not identify all of them.

"The West is putting a lot of pressure on those countries that are withdrawing recognition. This is happening with Liberia now, the US and the UK called them immediately, and are sending delegations," Dacic said.

Kosovo will apply for Interpol membership in the autumn, where decisions on membership require a two-thirds majority. Currently, Interpol has 192 member states.
