Attack on Serb-owned restaurant Kosovo president visited
The owner of the restaurant that Kosovo President Hashim Thaci visited on Saturday has confirmed that shots were fired at his home.
Goran Drazevic, a retired Yugoslav Army officer, said that shots were fired at his house on the night of Saturday-Sunday. “I was asleep as were my wife and children. The shots were fired at our room. Damage was done to my bedroom and the restaurant by automatic weapons fire,” he said, >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << adding that he did not want to report the incident because he doubts that the police can do anything.
Drazevic said that President Thaci came to his restaurant, asking to have coffee. “I also served him a brandy. I said to him: Come in Hashim we’re neighbours because I am from a suburb of Mitrovica which is close to Srbica (where Thaci is from). We laughed and talked,” he said.
The Kosovo police also confirmed the attack on the Drazevic family home.
Saturday's visit to the Gazivode lake area by the Kosovo president drew fierce criticism and condemnation from the Serbian authorities amid claims that police special forces unit (ROSU) had been deployed in the area.
