Crowd cheers Serbian national women’s volleyball team
Serbia’s national women’s volleyball team were welcomed home after winning gold at the world championships in Japan with a huge gathering of fans in central Belgrade on Monday.
The team appeared on the balcony of Belgrade city hall to the cheers of several thousand people. The balcony appearance has been a tradition for years for athletes and national teams returning home in triumph. Belgrade city hall is across the street from the Serbian parliament building.
The players, coaches and support staff were received earlier by President Aleksandar Vucic. That reception was attended by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.
