Serbia’s Zastava Firearms investing in new facilities
The Zastava Firearms factory is planning to invest up to five million Euros into a new production hall, the Serbian weapons maker’s CEO Milojko Brzakovic told the Beta news agency.
“Strategically, the most important thing now is to build a new hall. We expect construction to begin within a month,” he said, adding that Zastava Firearms is “overbooked” with orders because the 40 percent of its production facilities in the city of Kragujevac which were destroyed in the NATO >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << air strikes of 1999 were never rebuilt.
He said that he expects the plant to bring in 95 percent of the 57 million Dollars planned for 2018. “The plan for 2019 is 80 million Dollars and we have contracts for almost all of next year,” Brzakovic said.
The Zastava Firearms CEO said that the plant will invest in upgrades to its production equipment, improving working conditions and creating jobs for about 100 new employees by the end of this year. He said that 15 million Euros have been invested in the plant over the past four years.
