Solve name dispute, EU Commissioner says in Skoplje
Macedonia and Greece should finalize an agreement to end their dispute over the country’s name as soon as possible, European Commissioner in charge of enlargement Johannes Hahn said in Skoplje on Wednesday.
”It’s best if the sides make use of the current momentum to finalize an agreement as soon as possible,” Hahn told reporters.
“The country has gone down a long path with numerous challenges, but now, it is on the right track to soon join the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << EU. There’s still a lot to do and I would like to congratulate the government and the opposition for the commitment that they have shown”, Hahn said and added that the Macedonian government has to implement the reforms it committed itself to.
The European Commission recommended opening pre-accession negotiations with Macedonia and Albania on Tuesday.
