European Movement's Grubjesic: Europe still best place to be
Promoters of the European Union (EU) are losing their credibility every day due to lack of progress, according to Suzana Grubjesic, Secretary General of the European Movement in Serbia.
Grubjesic said in an interview with the FoNet news agency that the European Union (EU) keeps on telling the same about its enlargement but that no progress has been made.
However, according to her, despite the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << “Euro-indifference, Europe is still the best place to be.”
She hopes that Serbia would open more than two chapters in negotiations with the EU soon.
“In terms of the Balkans, the crucial word is united EU and true commitment of the EU to the enlargement policy,” Grubjesic emphasised, assessing that “they should better accept us the way we are.”
She is convinced this would be “less detrimental and the price would be lower than the one if the Western Balkans stayed out of integration.”
Grubjesic also briefly commented that the visit by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to Serbia was a step forward in the improvement of the NATO’s, as she said, catastrophic reputation in Serbia.
