NATO Secretary-General Jen Stoltenberg said on Monday in Brussels that the Alliance was committed to peace and stability in the Western Balkans and respected Serbia’s military neutrality.

He added that such a commitment was proved by the NATO-led KFOR mission in Kosovo.

The mission secured a peaceful environment, freedom of movement in line with the UN Security Council, Stoltenberg told a joint news conference after meeting Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic.

Vucic said he was “satisfied with the meeting,” and that Stoltenberg gave “a clear answer” about the maintaining of peace and stability in the region.

“He (Stoltenberg) pointed out the importance of KFOR and I believe it would bring appeasement to the entire region,” Vucic told reporters.
