The UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Serbia published on Monday a public call for financing innovations in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in North Macedonia and Albania as a part of the official development aid to Serbia within the 'Mini Schengen' initiative.
UNDP said its goal was to enable Serbia’s public and private enterprises, academic and research institutions to share innovative solutions for lessening the pandemic-related socio-economic consequences with the country’s partners in Skopje and Tirana, thus contributing to their recovery.
„A joint reaction by these countries is necessary for an answer to those challenges and building resilience to this and future crisis,“ UNDP said.
The solutions that can be offered include new digital services, contactless economic activities, and the population’s health and welfare programmes.
„Candidates can apply with already implemented solution, product or service, and can also suggest a feasibility study to test a proposed solution,“ UNDP added.
The deadline for applications is June 28. Details are available on UNDP in Serbia website.
The public call is a part of the ‘Framework for Accelerating Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals,’ financed by Serbia’s Government and implemented by UNDP.
