FM says no one can say if Serbia will join EU in 2025
Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that he can’t be sure that Serbia could become a member of the European Union by the year 2025.
“Judging by experience to date, I’m not sure that could happen. No one can say if the deadline is realistic,” he said and added that the decision to accept Serbian into the EU will be both value-based >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << and political. “Sometimes even values are a relative category in the EU,” he said. “Values are overlooked when someone in Europe needs something. And not just in europe,” Dacic said.
The foreign minister said that Serbia is open to cooperation with all international partners because international cooperation is vital to its economic development and progress. “I am convinced that deeper economic ties in the Western Balkans is of vital interest to the region because that is how we strengthen our economies and prepare to join the EU,” he said.
