Vucic: Dual education significant for future of young people

WINTERTHUR - Dual education is the most significant matter the Serbian government needs to address if it wants to ensure a future to young people, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said at the 2nd International Congress on Vocational and Professional Education and Training in Winterthur, Switzerland.

Quoting figures released by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Vucic said that around 1,300 companies are cooperating with schools for the time being.

That is >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Telegraf.rs << insufficient because education in schools can be no substitute for traineeship at companies, he said.

I think that introducing dual education will be the most important matter for us in the years to come, which means that we must change our approach and our work ethic - we must change everything about ourselves and that will be the toughest part of our reforms, Vucic said.

The Serbian government faces the difficult task of making legislative amendments to keep the country from getting into a situation of having to import workforce despite a high unemployment rate, he said.

There is opposition to dual education because there are many people who have privileges in the education system and do not want to change, Vucic said.
